When we purchased the historic estate in 2022, it was a silent testament to generations past, waiting to be awakened. Our journey of restoration has been one of slow, deliberate discovery. Beneath years of modern interventions, we unearthed the true soul of the 1892 build.
Every room held a story. Beneath layers of aged linoleum lay pristine, tight-grained original heart pine wood floors. Behind crumbling lath and plaster, we uncovered magnificent hand-pressed brickwork, standing as strong as the day it was laid, alongside hidden recessed shelving once used to store treasured family keepsakes.
THE ART OF RECLAMATION
The transformation of our estate represents far more than a routine restoration… it is an act of historical preservation. Standing resiliently on massive limestone foundation walls unearthed from the property, the entire frame has been brought back from the brink of decay. Our master woodworkers stabilized the timber infrastructure with absolute reverence for the late eighteenth and nineteenth-century builders who first engineered it.
Deep within the framework, wedged securely between the hand-hewn white oak beams, we uncovered several rusted antique tools, left behind like signatures in dust. These forgotten artifacts have been carefully polished, preserved, and reintegrated into the interior architecture, serving as a silent, physical bridge connecting the heritage of the past to the utility of the present.
